Ud Alnad ensemble

Ud Al Nad Ensemble is a group of singers from Nazareth who since 1994 sings a variety of musical genres from the Arab world from the most classical heritage to the present. Introducing the vocal arrangements as well as keeping the oriental nuances and timbre of the Arabic music. In our singing voice we reflect the diversities of our identity in its various components and complexities on the national, cultural, religious, and societal levels. We sing all those contradictions and in spite of them. We sing the body in harmony with the soul and the materialistic fused with the spiritual. Full integration of choral singing can only be reached when contribution is made collectively, and when the individual’s voice melts within. Ud Al Nad Ensemble members complete one another, encouraging the act of giving to further instill a sense of belonging.

Our distinguished productions are a variety of singing styles, from Lebanon, going through Syria, Iraq, reaching Egypt as well as the Arab Maghreb (North Africa), paying tribute to the outstanding legends who have imprinted their legacy during our golden age of music. We are enriched with unique artistic experiences that included workshops with musicians, composers and stage directors. Some workshops led to musical productions having singing, dancing, and acting.

We expanded our performing abilities as performers by developing the awareness of presence on stage. One of the main pillars is in how to transmit and communicate the lyrics to the audience especially when the repertoire is new or the language is foreign to the audience. The focus becomes in narrowing the gap and aligning the singing voice along with the physical gestures once performing.
