( Hadaek EL Layl ) Ud Al Nad Ebsemble met with Youssef Hbeisch to the sound of mazaher and many a percussion instrument. Throughout the lengthy workshops of continuous practice and dedication over the course of two years, each acquired a new skillset of accompanying their own singing while playing percussion instruments. Ahmad Al Khatib’s joining the group enriched the musical creation, adding flavour and refinement, let alone his musical contribution that elevated the production of Gardens of the Night.
Revellers of Gardens of the Night sing the forgotten muwashahat and songs of our heritage as well as some of the choir members’ own creations that have sprung from continuous artistic learning. The created milieu is that of percussion and singing, seamlessly diffusing tunes and words.
Ud Al Nad was privileged to work with composers as Ahmad Al- Khatib from Sweden who was to compose our first song “Kalbadr” and the lyric by Wala Jadoun a member of the ensemble. The creativity grows to reach having Sameeh Sheikh Suleiman write the lyric & music of our distinguished song “Im Elmandil”, “Akhafou Alayki” opening to us the doorway of creating our own repertoire
